John Tanner is a professional outdoorsman who uses unique opportunities in the outdoors to share Jesus Christ with others. John is a professional fishing guide on Lake Fork, Texas and also fishes on the FLW Tour. He has answered the call on his life and surrendered to the outdoor ministry that God has called him to be involved in. He speaks at churches, outdoor expos, wild game dinners, fishing tournaments, men's rallies and other events. John also has a DVD and tract ministry. Through his travels across the country and his busy guide schedule he spreads the word by distributing gospel DVD's and Tracts to hundreds of people each year.

Hello brothers and sisters. Can you believe it is March already? I guess
time flies when you are busy. These are busy times and with the increase
in technology and communication it seems like things speed up every day.
The world is changing and it is hard to keep up sometimes with it all
but one thing will never change, and that is Gods love for us. In the
book of Romans in chapter 8:38-39 Gods word tells us this. " For I am
persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor
powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor
any other created thing, shall be able to seperate us from the love of
God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. How awesome and amazing is
that!When things get wound up and you think you are going explode, just
think about how much we are loved by our Heavenly Father. Just take a
deep breath and say " Thank you Lord for your love and I trust in you
and your promises". I am so thankful for Gods love and the way He
blesses us with his grace and mercy each and everyday. No matter what is
going on He makes sure it for our good. We can all hang our hat on that.
Ministry news
We have a had some awesome ministry events here in the Lake Fork area in
the last couple of months and on the road as well. In Feb we had a wild
game dinner at Lake Fork Baptist Church. My buddy Gary Johnson spoke and
there was close to 400 in attendence. There were 22 people there that
prayed to recieve Christ and I believe 27 rededications. Praise the
Lord. We have had a few Fishin with a Mission events here on Lake Fork
passing out tracts and talking to people on boat ramps and marinas. This
is an outstanding way to reach people and we will continue this as the
Lord leads. I went to Del Rio Texas and fished in an Everstart Series
Tourney on Lake Amistad last month and passed out alot of tracts and
Gospel dvd's there as well. A prayer meeting was started down there with
some of the fisherman and will be continuing at the rest of the
tournaments as we go. Also on the way home from Amistad I had an email
saying that a man who read one of tracts that were passed out at a boat
ramp down there prayed to recieve Christ.I had the opportunity to speak
at a Mens breakfast at First baptist in Van TX last month as well. Our
Tuesday night mens meetings have been incredible. God is blessing those
as well. My Sunday School teacher started these meetings and they have
grown so that we have two different ones going now. We meet in Quitman
and also in Alba. God is changing mens lives through the Holy Spirit and
it is so exciting to see. We are excited about what God is doing and
praising Him for all. He is at work all around us and wants us to be a
part of it. Pray for God to use you and to give you something to do for
Him today !
