What a great year it is shaping up to be here on Lake Fork. The lake has already produce three fish over thirteen pounds and one of those was over fifteen pounds! The lake is currently almost full pool at .18 feet low. The surface temps are ranging in the low to mid sixties depending on what part of the lake and time of day. The upper parts of the northern creeks are still fairly muddy, and the fishing has been a little slow there as a result, but some very good quality fish are coming from those areas. The better numbers of fish for me lately have been coming from the mid creeks. The water is a little cooler there, but it is much clearer. The best baits for me in those areas have been chatter baits and light weighted Lake Fork Trophy Lures Hyper Sticks. Chatter baits in white/chartreuse with LFT magic shad trailers are producing well. We are Texas rigging the hyper sticks with a 1/16 oz. tungsten weight. The chatter baits seem to produce throughout the day fishing in shallow water from zero to seven feet. The hyper sticks seem to be better in the afternoons as the water warms a little. We are fishing it on the edges and behind the grass lines. Best color lately has been black magic. The rest of this month and April should be some great fishing and I’m excited to see what this phenomenal lake produces through the rest of the spring. Hope this info helps and as always if I can be of any help or if you would like to book a trip, please feel free to contact me. You can contact me by email at
